Brynen Chitwood, Lead Pastor
I grew up in Hanover, Indiana, and from an early age of 13, I felt God calling me to pastoral ministry. I was so grateful for my childhood and the Christian upbringing in my family. After graduating high school in 2014, the Lord led me to attend Indiana Wesleyan University where I obtained a Bachelors' Degree in Christian Ministries and a Masters of Art in Spiritual Care.
In 2018, I met the love of my life, Jessica. When we got married in the summer of 2020, we settled into our new home nestled in the country roads of Jefferson County. We quickly enjoyed life's adventures and where God had us in this stage of life. In the spring of 2024, Jessica and I were blessed with our son, Emmett. Since then, our lives have been focused on parenting and where God wants us to be as a family.
In early January of 2025, God answered our prayers by bringing our current church together with another church in the community. Through the amazing work of the Holy Spirit, RiverStone Church was born. We have seen new families and the youth become energized for the Gospel. People are giving their lives to Christ and this church is on fire to serve the Lord. I am sure you have heard this from a lot of churches, “Come try us out, we are different.” Well, this time I'm not going to "sell" a church or even a building. Instead, I'm going to tell you why I love this place and what we are all about.
We are a church full of broken people who have been transformed by the life of Jesus Christ. Our focus is to take the Gospel wherever we go and to be intentional with everyone we meet. By no means are we a perfect bunch of people, but we enjoy worshipping and praising the Perfect God.
I pray that when you visit RiverStone, you will leave inspired, fulfilled, and empowered to go out into the world. This church is a place where you walk in and immediately feel like family.
As I close with this scripture, I pray that God will ignite your faith as you hear these words from John.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” John 15:16
From my family to you, may the love of Jesus Christ overwhelm you with thankfulness and praise to what God is doing in your life.
God Bless,
Pastor Brynen
